ACCOUNTS

Accounts are issued on departure and are due for payment immediately. Reservations made through third party online booking sites are processed on the day of arrival. Surcharges may apply for credit card payments (see Credit Cards).

If you are departing before 7:30am please settle your account the night prior.

AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING

Operating Your Hotel Room Air Conditioner

1. Turn on the Air Conditioner:
Press the ON/OFF button on the remote control. If you can’t find the remote, carefully check your room. If it’s still not there, kindly contact the reception for assistance.

2. Choose Your Comfort Mode:
Select either COOL or HEAT mode. COOL mode is represented by a snowflake icon, and HEAT mode is represented by a sun icon. Set your preferred temperature.

3. Be Patient for Efficient Cooling/Heating:
Please be aware that the air conditioner might take up to 5 minutes to start working efficiently. Allow this time for the unit to prepare and begin functioning optimally.

ATM

There is an ATM located within the General store in American River or they can be found at Penneshaw and Kingscote

Reception can assist with directions.

Check-out time is 10.00am. If you wish to checkout before 7:30am please settle your account the night before, If you wish extend beyond this time, please contact reception (additional charges may apply).

EMERGENCY

Your safety is our utmost concern.

In the event of an emergency evacuation, proceed to the nearest emergency assembly area (evacuation information is on the rear of the front door).

Please advise reception of an emergency but always dial 000 for emergencies immediately if required.

FACILITIES  

Our facilities are complimentary for all guests staying with us including the use of the tennis court facilities. Guests are invited to relax by the seasonal outdoor swimming pool (closed from May to September), perfect for those warm summer days.

HAIRDRYERS

A hairdryer is located in the bottom cupboard of your bathroom vanity. 

HOUSEKEEPING

We wish to advise that the servicing is of your room is by request, if you would like your room serviced please kindly let reception know by 9:00a each day and we will gladly attend to your room that day. We can gladly provide fresh towels and extra amenities at reception for you.

IRON/IRONING BOARD

An iron and ironing board are located in the wardrobe of your room.

LAUNDRY

A guest laundry is available from 7:30am to 8:00 pm with coin operated washing machine and dryer.

$2.60 for the washing machine and $2.00 for the dryer.

Reception provides change for $1 and 20c coins and also sells laundry powder sachets.

LUGGAGE STORAGE

This service is available to all guests at no charge. Please contact reception to make arrangements.

MAINTENANCE

Should any appliances, fittings or services require attention, please contact reception and we will address the issue as soon as possible.

POST OFFICE

Envelopes, postcards and stamps are available at Reception. We can drop your letters or postcards at the American River Post Office which is just a 300-meter stroll northeast of the lodge.

TELEPHONE

Room to Room – dial the room number required as a three-digit number starting with either 2 or 20 depending on the room number. I.e. Rooms 1-9 dial 20 before the room number required or for rooms 10-38 dial 2 before the room number required.

Telephones cannot dial external numbers, only 000 in case of a emergency.

SAFE

All rooms have in-room safes

To set your unique safe code.

  1. Press red “reset” button located inside safe door – wait till beep. – close door.
  2. Input your own code ( 4 digits) followed by # button
  3. Green light indicates your code has been accepted – you can now close the safe.
  4. To open – enter your 4 digit code – followed by the # button.
  5. On departure – please leave safe door open

SECURITY

All rooms are fitted with security devices. We recommend that you ensure that you have locked your door and placed the latch over before retiring for the night. For additional safety, we recommend that you also lock your vehicle and that no valuables are left within sight.

SMOKING

All rooms are designated Non-Smoking. Smoking will only be allowed outside the building. Smoking within our motel rooms is considered to be malicious damage. If a room is found to have been used for smoking by the guests or invitees of the guests a minimum charge of $200.00 will be charged to the guests account or credit card supplied at check-in to compensate for:

SMOKE DETECTORS

All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors which are monitored from a central fire panel. Should you accidentally trigger your smoke detector please contact reception straight away. Triggering a smoke detector will also trigger adjoining rooms in your section of the motel. Attempting to disconnect or tamper with detectors will also trigger them.
